FAQs
Got questions? We've got answers. Here are some of the most common questions we get asked.
Yes, our sausages and steakettes are available in gluten-free and paleo options.
Delivery fees for locations over 50km from Pittsworth will be calculated and discussed with you over the phone before we process your animal. Alternatively, you are welcome to pick up your order.
Our truck is frequently seen across the Darling Downs. While we are willing to travel to areas such as the Sunshine Coast, Goondiwindi, and Brisbane, we prefer to combine multiple deliveries in one trip. Once your order is placed, we will contact you to coordinate the most suitable delivery option.
A 50% deposit is required before processing begins, we will call you to organise payment.
The remaining balance must be paid in full before delivery or collection.
Once we've started processing, deposits are non-refundable because your order is custom prepared just for you.
The standard thickness for our steak cut ranges from 15mm to 20mm, while our thick cut is 25mm.
To ensure the meat is in the best condition for butchering, we hang our animals for a period of seven days.
Yes. That's the beauty of our business, we find the right beast at the right time for you. You give us your requirements and timeframe, and we will speak directly with our farmers to source the highest quality meat product for you.
Our products are delivered fresh, and you have the option of choosing between bulk or packed cuts. Occasionally, we offer frozen cuts during flash sales. To be notified of these sales, please make sure you register for an account and have alerts turned on.
Yes. Fill out the Whole Beast Configuration Form and make sure to tick Private Kill, and Johnno will be in touch!
Sure can! It's as easy as filling out the configuration form, which will guide you through the available cuts. You can add extra details at the end. For instance, you might want all your steaks packed for two, but request your roasts be sized for five people for your Sunday Family Roast.
Your order will be:
- Professionally cut and packed
- Cryovaced/vacuum sealed (where applicable)
- Clearly labelled
This keeps everything fresh and makes storage easy.
We're all about paddock-to-plate quality. Our meat comes from local farmers we trust and is handled with care from start to finish. Proper, high-quality beef you can taste.
When someone asks, "Which one should we butcher?" the answer is simple:
The one we'd happily eat ourselves, butchered to the same standard we'd expect on our own family dinner table.
Simple, get it cold straight away. Refrigerate what you'll use soon and then freeze the rest. As it's fresh product, it's important not to leave it sitting out.
We want to know about it. If there's an issue please let us know within 24 hours of delivery and send through a photo and quick explanation. We'll work with you to make it right whether that's a replacement, credit, or refund where appropriate.
We don't offer refunds for change of mind (it's perishable), but if there's a genuine issue with quality or your order, we'll sort it out fairly.
As everything is prepared fresh, turnaround times can vary. We'll give you an estimated timeframe when you place your order, but good things take a little time, especially when done properly.
We work closely with local farmers across the Darling Downs who care about their animals and produce. It's all about quality, consistency, and supporting local.
Of course. We're always happy to chat, answer questions, or help you choose the right option. Just jump onto our contact form, ask your questions, and we will give you a call to discuss.
Definitely. We'll walk you through:
- How much you'll get
- What cuts to expect
- How to store it
We're not a big-box butcher, we're real people who care about what we produce.
If you've got a question, just reach out. We're always happy to help and always pleased to meat ya!
